Graduated in Theatre by the Oporto’s School of Music and Performing Arts (Escola Superior de Música e das Artes do Espectáculo). He also frequented the Dartington College of Arts (UK), where he studied Devised Theatre and Performance. 

In 2007, he participated in the 2nd edition of the theatre directing course of the Gulbenkian Creativity and Artistic Production Program, delivered by the Third Angel company, under the direction of Alexander Kelly. In 2008/2009, he makes a professional internship with the company Gob Squad, in Berlin.

In 2009, he was awarded the scholarship of the Inov-Art programme, to work with the Reality Research Center (FIN) company, with which he developed the project URBANIA. In 2010, he was selected for the 19th edition of La Nouvelle École des Maîtres – itinerant theatrical improvement international course, directed by Matthew Lenton.

He is co-founder and associated artist of the structure teatro meia volta e depois à esquerda quando eu disser, for which he directed the shows Project_Bathtub (Projecto_Banheira) (2006), The Name of the Streets (O Nome das Ruas) (2006), Closet Things (Coisas de Armário) (2008), URBANIA (2010), National-Material, Landscape with Argonauts (Nacional-Material, Paisagem com Argonautas) (2011), OZZZZZ (2013), Días Hábiles (2017) and Silent Disco (2019). He coordinates, since 2011, the audience engagement project O Público Vai ao Teatro.

He is a frequent collaborator of Má-Criação. Of the projects developed in this context he highlights 20’ (2008), Project 101 (Projecto 101)/Masako Point (2008), Learning to Swim (2010), L-O-V-E (2015), Invisible Cities (Cidades Invisíveis) (2016) and Tyrannosaurus Rex (Tiranossauro Rex) (2017).

He works regularly as a performer and/or co-creator with other artists, among whom he highlights Stefan Kaegi, Benedetto Sicca, Vera Mantero, Catarina Miranda and Alex Cassal.

Anabela Almeida has the Actors’ Formation Course and Degree in Theatre and Education by Lisbon’s Theatre and Film School (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema). She’s graduated in Modern Languages and Literatures.

She was an actress at Teatro da Garagem between 1993 and 2001. She works regularly as an actress in mala voadora since its foundation in 2003. She worked with the theatre directors António Feio, Carlos J. Pessoa, Jorge Listopad, Jorge Silva Melo, Rogério de Carvalho, Catarina Requeijo, Jorge Andrade, Sarah Vanhee, Tiago Guedes and Miguel Fragata.

In 2015, her project The Beach House (A Casa da Praia), was selected to participate in a workshop delivered by the Argentinian Lola Arias, writer, theatre director and performer, at the Kaaitheater in Brussels. Since 1997, she develops and collaborates in artistic and pedagogical projects aimed at an infantile and juvenile audience, in diverse institutions such as Maria Matos Municipal Theatre, São Luiz Municipal Theatre, D. Maria II National Theatre and Artemrede. She developed and oriented the project Vitória 283, of the mala voadora company, in the frame of project PARTIS, in Oporto.

Since 2013, she collaborates regularly with the Formiga Atómica company and participated as actress in the shows From the Wood to the World (Do Bosque para o Mundo) (2016), Roller Coaster (Montanha Russa) (2018) and Fake (2020).

She was co-creator with Sara Duarte of Single Story, a conference in theatrical form (uma conferência em forma teatral), in 2016 at Maria Matos Theatre, and with Cláudia Gaiolas and Sílvia Filipe of The Three Lonely (As 3 Sozinhas), in 2019 at TNDMII. She created and performed the project The Beach House in 2019, at ZDB.

Bachelor by Lisbon’s Theatre and Film School (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema), Cláudia Gaiolas is a creator, performer and associated artist of teatro meia volta e depois à esquerda quando eu disser.

She has been working with diverse companies: Mundo Perfeito, mala voadora, Truta, Má-Criação, Teatro da Garagem, Homem Bala, and also Tiago Rodrigues, Tónan Quito, Paula Diogo, Giacomo Scalisi, António Mercado, André Murraças, Joaquim Horta, Madalena Victorino, Jean-Pierre Larroche, Rui Horta, Clara Andermatt, Martim Pedroso, Àgnes Limbos, Dinarte Branco, Guilherme Garrido, Alfredo Martins, Alex Cassal, Keli Freitas and Raquel André.

She staged the shows As of Tomorrow (A Partir de Amanhã) and The Woman that Stopped (A Mulher que Parou), with texts of Tiago Rodrigues for Alkantara; for the Materiais Diversos festival, she staged: The Terrorists (Os Terroristas) and created the shows Domestic Soil (Solo Doméstico) and It’s Not Just Me Here (Não Sou Só Eu Aqui), this last one with Rita Rio. She participated in the TRYANGLE laboratory and developed the TryRomance project. She participates in the show I DON’T BELONG HERE, with direction of Dinarte Branco. Co-creates The Great Book of Small Details (O Grande Livro dos Pequenos Detalhes). For São Luiz Municipal Theatre, she directed the Antiprincesses’ (Antiprincesas) cycle; with Anabela Almeida and Sílvia Filipe co-directed the show The Three Lonely (As Três Sozinhas) for D. Maria II National Theatre.

Lectured theatre in the context of the “Theatre Workshops” promoted by Lisbon’s City Hall. Performed several workshops for children and youth for Artemrede, Maria Matos Theatre, CCB, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Forum Dança. Lectured theatre between 2001 and 2018 at the Santa Cecília Music Academy (Lisbon).

Graduated in Actors’/Theatre directors’ Training by Lisbon’s Theatre and Film School (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema). He frequented the École des Maîtres, where he met Antonio Lattela, with whom he worked regularly in Italy, in the production of several shows, along 10 years.

Integrated the Artistas Unidos between 2007 and 2009, as staging assistant of Jorge Silva Melo, actor and producer. He also performed assistance work for António Simão, José Carlos Garcia and John Mowat.

He worked at the Teatro das Compras’ project, of EGEAC, from 2009 to 2015. While programming and curatorship assistant of the Cultural Club Palácio Belmonte he worked with diverse international plastic artists, musicians, actors and writers, between 2013 and 2019. 

He’s associated of the structure teatro meia volta e depois à esquerda quando eu disser since 2010, in which he participated in the shows Urbania, National-Material, Landscape with Argonauts (Nacional-Material, Paisagem com Argonautas) and OZZZZZ.

He develops, since 2015, a continuous collaboration at the Money Museum (Museu do Dinheiro), as creator, performer and trainer. Works regularly in projects for childhood and youth, at D. Maria II National Theatre, CPA, Cosanostra and Maria Matos Municipal Theatre.

Among others, he worked with: Ávila Costa, Mário Trigo, Madalena Victorino, João Brites, Martim Pedroso, Ana Lacerda, Susana Arrais, João Ricardo, Claudio Hochman, Ana Borralho and João Galante, Giacomo Scalisi, Ainhoa Vidal, Miguel Fragata, Inês Barahona, Catarina Requeijo and Tónan Quito.

Sara Duarte has the Theatre Actors’ Training Course (Curso de Formação de Actores de Teatro)  by the Franco-Portuguese Institute (Instituto Franco-Português) and is graduated in Clinical Psychology by Lisbon University’s Psychology Faculty (Faculdade de Psicologia da Universidade de Lisboa).

As an actress, she integrated the  Teatro da Garagem and Pogo Teatro companies. She worked as an actress and staging assistant with Cornucópia Theatre, Pedro Carraca, João Miguel Rodrigues, Francisco Parreira and Eduardo Barreto. In cinema, she worked with Jeanne Waltz in From Here to Joy (Daqui p’rá Alegria).

Since 1997, she develops artistic and pedagogic projects aimed at an infantile, juvenile audience and for teachers. She collaborated with public institutions as trainer and consultant (CM Cascais, Social Security Institute) and as trainer and mediator in third sector institutions (AC Moinho da Juventude, Cooperativa Seies, UMAR, SER+ Associação Portuguesa Prevenção e Desafio à SIDA (Portuguese Association Prevention and Challenge to AIDS), among others). She’s associated of Arisco – Instituição para a Promoção Social e da Saúde (Institution for Social and Health Promotion) since 2000, where she was responsible for the production of diverse ludic-pedagogic materials of mental health prevention aimed at children, youth and teachers. Between 2000 and 2010 she developed the practice of child care in private practice with supervision.

She collaborated with the casaBranca AC, in artistic projects in school context in the domain of the binding to place and of word and reading exploration. With mala voadora she developed the artistic mediation project Vitória 283. Co-production with Anabela Almeida of Single Story, a conference in theatrical form (uma conferência em forma teatral) (2016, Maria Matos). Artistic direction with Lígia Soares of Profess (Professar) (2020, São Luiz).

Coordinates since 2016 the audience engagement project O Público Vai ao Teatro.
